NJ Transit’s board Wednesday approved a $1.59 million contact with Gannett-Fleming Inc. of Newark for rehabilitation designs for the south retaining wall on the Morris & Essex line between the Morristown Line and the Gladstone Branch split in Summit.
Train tracks in that location are in a trench surrounded by concrete retaining walls. The work, which will lead to construction, covers three-quarters of a mile of wall that is more than 100-years old. ....
