A young boy is being praised for helping save his dad and little sister by swimming to shore and calling for help after the family got caught in a powerful current during a holiday trip on Florida’s St. Johns River.
The boy’s dad, Steven Poust, said that he anchored his boat in the river while he fished while his son Chase, 7, and his daughter, Abigail, 4, were playing.
Chase said the current was too powerful for his sister to hold onto the boat, and he also jumped off to help her. Thankfully, Abigail was wearing a life jacket.
“I felt really scared,” the little hero told Jax 4 TV. ....

A 7-year-old boy in Florida is being hailed a hero after he swam ashore to get help when his sister and dad got swept away by a current.
Steven Poust told CNN affiliate WKXT that he anchored his boat on the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida, to let his two children, Chase, 7, and Abigail, 4, swim, on Friday.
All of a sudden, Abigail, who usually hangs out at the back of the boat, had to let go because the current was so strong, Chase said. ....
