santa cruz is a special community that knows how to come together when a child goes missing. they ve turned out by the dozens and dozens to help police the fbi and other agencies to search for this missing 8-year-old. it is a community that is very concerned for her welfare. two distinct groups have been out searching for young madyson for about 24 hours. about 75 santa cruz officers are also tracking down leads and contacting 20 sex offenders. volunteers have shown up to help search under the guidance of police. however, investigators insist this is not a kidnapping. we re not calling this a kidnapping. we re still early on in our investigation. we re calling it this is we re looking for a lost child. it baffles family friends how madyson disappears. she would always be very concerned, vigilant, how to get back home. she didn t want to walk alone around here. you know she had escorts, she had a lot of friends. it hurts my heart. it hurts my soul. i am so sad. esp
