machine apart and sent debris flying some 65 feet. this is not somebody playing with fireworks. this is someone that constructed an explosive device. powerful one and somewhat sophisticated one. a bomb went off in front of the building. it s insane. totally insane. reporter: it happened just after 10:00 o clock shattering windows and startling neighbors for blocks. loud explosion. i didn t know what to think of what it was. the blast blew a hole in the soda vending machine and knocked the front and rear off. it was all caught on tape by ralph s surveillance cameras outside the plumbing and heating business he s owned here for 30 years. for somebody to throw a dynamite or whatever they through in there, it s ridiculous. somebody could have been got killed i mean when i see the damage here. reporter: the explosion brought the city s bomb squad to the scene along with atf and detectives. carefully took evidence from the blast site. they re now tracking down leads a
