That is a foolish plan and a slap in the face of those who pay their own way, including student loans. I know a college student enrolled at North Dakota State University in a challenging curriculum. He works part time and gets top grades. He drives a modest car and lives in a modest apartment. He plans to graduate debt-free. This responsible young man is a taxpayer. Now some politicians want to take his taxes to pay off debt of other students who’ve not been so responsible. That is grossly unfair. Why work and be thrifty if you can ride the gravy train? ....
