THE crumbling state of a pathway in Eldene which is used frequently by patients walking to Eldene Surgery has led to a fresh call for it to be repaired, despite Swindon Council having ruled two years ago work was not needed. Steve Harling, from Hedgerow Close, is calling for the pathway, in Collingsmead, to be repaired, particularly as there is a set of flats nearby which is home to elderly people. The path leads past Cerdae Pitch play area, to the Eldene surgery and up to Eldene Primary, and round to the main road. Steve said: “The pathway goes past the doctors so people with wheelchairs use it and the elderly do too. It’s a very bumpy, badly worn path which has pretty much disintegrated over the years.
