Andrea Doria foghorn blasts from Beach Haven, 65 years after it sank


BEACH HAVEN, N.J. - On Sunday, 65 years to the day Italian ocean liner Andrea Doria collided with Swedish ocean liner Stockholm, her long-submerged but newly restored foghorn sounded again.
Its deep bellow resounded from the New Jersey Maritime Museum, where it was on display for the first time, down Dock Road so that passersby raised a curious look.
Several witnesses were there the last time the horn blew, as passengers aboard the liner on that fateful night, July 25, 1956.
