Here is how the structure is gonna work, im gonna give very brief introductions for the people sitting here at the table with me and i do all of them at once i will have each panel member talk about why they decided to be part of the project and why they selected the image they selected and they will talk a little about the image. Retired just last spring from uva where he represents Civil War History from 1999 until 2018. He is the author and editor of at least 39 books, including the union war, the american war, and most recently, coedited, civil war places, a beautiful book, his son took the photograph, and this is an absolute treasure if you have not had a chance to see it yet. 20 books. I have a long list here. One of my favorite books is girls. Is earls. Is one of the first books to explore soldier motivation and ideology. It is an outstanding book. He has done any others that charge, ackets book on field fortifications. A lot of people dont love braxton bragg. Im not sure you will love him after you read earls book, but it is a fair and well researched , deeply analytical look. He has won a number of awards. Fighting for atlanta, tactics, is the and the civil war topic. The purpose is to understand one of the more important elements that influence the course of operations in the Atlantic Campaign. He has 100 articles as well as numerous book titles. Some of my personal favorites, confederate war, union war. Many books have had a profound impact on the field. I am a student of dr. Gallaghers.
