An early move by driver Jim Morrill Jr. put Metal Man in the perfect spot to win the lone $119,800 division of the New York Sire Stakes for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings at Batavia Downs on Tuesday night (Aug. 8).
The New York Sire Stakes circuit was back at MGM Yonkers Raceway on Thursday night (July 13) with a trio of divisions for sophomore pacing males, and all three were won by gelded sons of sire Huntsville.
Ever since the Game Of Claims Series earlier in the spring, the Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania Race Office has been able to keep together multiple divisions of the top claiming handicap trotters. And on Tuesday afternoon (May 30), two $15,500 sections were featured.
There were four repeat winners in Saturday’s eight divisions of the second preliminaries of Game Of Claims Pacing Series for $27,500 base-tag horses, but during nine $12,500 divisions of the second-round Game Of Claims for $17,500-priced entrants Sunday (March 12) at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, only P L Leeroy could post a repeat victory.
