The “no-camping ordinance” in Rochester criminalizing homelessness is deplorable. In a recent article, Dan Fifield of The Landing MN states that this does nothing to solve the actual problem. The public funds spent enforcing this ordinance and creating arrest records for people who have been victimized by dystopian late-stage capitalism could be better spent on social programs that provide tangible services.
