That s what inspired a young Houstonian named Tahchiona Smith to become a pilot.
She was six years old when her Grandmother began taking her plane spotting. Since then, she s loved aviation.
When Tahchiona was a teenager, she attended Sterling Aviation High School in HISD.
She would later go on to earn an aviation management degree from TSU.
Now, she s twenty-four and her story has become an inspiration for young female aviation lovers everywhere!
Ellen DeGeneres invited Tahchiona to be a guest on her show yesterday to share that story and to surprise her.
In addition to flying, Tahchiona is now working to bring more diversity and representation to the aviation industry.
