A pedestrian was stuck and killed by a vehicle. In this particular case, the driver actually fled the scene but later came back and turned himself in. Investigators say that alcohol was a factor. Its also important to note that the pedestrian was not using a crosswalk at the time so he was jaywalking. Metro says that this is the 14th fatality this year. 6 of those have involved pedestrians. 2 have been motorcyclists slash bicycles and the other 6 were automobiles. Police say the 50yearold woman who died was not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash. Sharie Johnson were learning more about a shooting in pahrump which put a child in danger. According to the nye county sheriffs department. The alleged shooter and the victims mother conspired together in the attack. Deputies arrested 21 yearold cody barns. And 42 yearold kirsty finnegan. Vanessa Murphy amanda ortiz says former Metro Police Officer Richard Scavone threw her to the ground, slammed her into a patrol car, and knocked out a couple of her teeth in january of 2015. amanda i seen my face on the glass and my face was bleeding all over the place Vanessa Murphy the 24 year old woman was suspected of working as a prostitute something shes been arrested for before. And after scavones stop in this Hotel Parking lot. Which she says turned violent. She was taken into custody. She immediately complained. amanda i felt like it was wrong. I know my rights as citizen. Vanessa Murphy scavone was fired months later. In january. He was indicted federally for excessive use of force and obstruction of justice for lying on a report. House who wasnt supposed to be there. They came here to check it out. It ulimtately led to a shooting leaving the suspect dead. Police say when the man and woman Property Managers arrived they went into the back yard first. They told police they found a black man in his 20s. Thats when a fight broke out between both men. Police say the homeowner got socked in the face several times. And a dog with him at the time did as well. So the male property manager drew a gun and shot the suspect during the fight. The suspect was taken to the hospital where he died. Right now police have the man and woman recreating the scenario. Detectives are also talking with neighbors to see if they heard or saw something. Police are working to see if the suspect was squatting at the house or in the middle of a burglary. But authorities did tell us the suspect had a backpack filled with tools.
