Ozark High's JROTC wins four national championships in single year

Ozark High s JROTC wins four national championships in single year From News Reports View Comments In a rare feat, the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps at Ozark High School won four national championships in a single year. The first JROTC national championship was won at the end of February and the final two were in early May. JROTC Raider instructor Maj. Danny Cazier said there are more than 3,400 JROTC program eligible to complete including at least 1,700 Army JROTC programs. “A national championship is an incredible achievement, Cazier said.  “Achieving simultaneous national championships in a single sport is also extremely uncommon. Achieving simultaneous national championships in different sports is even more rare. Simultaneous national championships in three different sports is almost beyond belief. Achieving four national championships total in a single year is just surreal.”

Palliative care provides comfort to COVID-19 patients, families

When COVID-19 was spreading across Italy in February 2020, all eyes at David Grant U.S. Air Force Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base, California were fixated on the unfolding pandemic, realizing their hospital may potentially be one of the first to be impacted. Air Force Lt. Col. Laurie Migliore, acting director, Clinical Investigation Facility and director of Biobehavioral Research, along with essential medical personnel were charged with reviewing Grant s Crisis Standards of Care, particularly the availability of palliative care for potential COVID-19 patients. Migliore said it became evident from seeing the death rates in Italy that DGMC may be impacted with unprecedented numbers of critically ill and potentially dying patients. They had to be ready to provide both medical and palliative care.
