Ozark High s JROTC wins four national championships in single year

In a rare feat, the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps at Ozark High School won four national championships in a single year.
The first JROTC national championship was won at the end of February and the final two were in early May.
JROTC Raider instructor Maj. Danny Cazier said there are more than 3,400 JROTC program eligible to complete including at least 1,700 Army JROTC programs.
“A national championship is an incredible achievement, Cazier said.
“Achieving simultaneous national championships in a single sport is also extremely uncommon. Achieving simultaneous national championships in different sports is even more rare. Simultaneous national championships in three different sports is almost beyond belief. Achieving four national championships total in a single year is just surreal.”
BONHAM â A spike of 20 Covid-19 cases in Fannin County was the result of testing in the Texas Department of Criminal Justiceâs Choice Moore Transfer Facility in Bonham rather than rapid spread in the community.
Fannin County Judge Randy Moore told commissioners Tuesday the jump from nine cases to 29 startled him Saturday, and he set out to determine where that was happening. Moore met with Emergency Management coordinator Troy Hudson, who started making phone calls to area nursing homes, clinics and Texoma Medical Center to find out what happened.
âWe didnât get any â nobody. Nothing,â Moore said, adding Dr. Joel Massey suggested he check with the state prisons.
