Former East Helena Police Chief William Daly Harrington made an initial court appearance Tuesday on a criminal complaint accusing him of distributing child pornography, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney s office. Harrington is also under criminal investigation over a separate allegation of sexual assault, according to a press release from the city of East Helena. His attorney Scott Albers declined to comment on Tuesday. A criminal complaint filed in the child pornography case and unsealed Tuesday alleges that Harrington, 42, of Helena, distributed child pornography, Acting U.S. Attorney Leif M. Johnson said. The crime has a mandatory minimum penalty of five years to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and five years to life of supervised release. ....

Dec 19, 2020 SOUTH DAYTON Mark Richard Chase age 49 of South Dayton passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at home surrounded with love and family. He was born Aug. 22, 1971, the son of Ronald and the (late) Karen Chase. Mark was a proud 1989 graduate of Pine Valley Central School. He graduated from Fredonia State College and the University of Buffalo, he spent the last 20 years as a library media specialist at Portville, Pine Valley and Salamanca City Central School District . He also taught drivers education for 13 years and served as the director of athletics at Pine Valley for eight years. Mark loved going to work every day and working with his students. He enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Pirates and treasured spend-ing time with family and friends. ....
