Lambton's first COVID-19 vaccine recipient 'thrilled'

Steeves & Rozema long-term care community resident Valerie Verberg was the first recipient of the Moderna vaccine in Lambton County on Jan. 26.
The 88-year-old was first in line for the vaccine as Lambton Public Health officially began its COVID-19 immunization program at Trillium Villa Nursing Home in Sarnia.

“I feel great,” Verberg said. “I can’t believe I was the first one.”
Lambton Public Health said it chose Trillium Villa to begin its immunization program due to the level of risk there, due to its size and older design. Immunizations were scheduled to continue throughout the week until the agency administers all of the available doses of Moderna vaccine in its possession. ....
