CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) â The uptick in COVID-19 cases in Harrison County has curtailed the opportunity for many families to get together this Christmas, and it also has affected the number of free holiday dinners that will be offered.
The annual Christmas Day dinner at Christ Church United Methodist in Adamston will not be held after organizer Melodie Nichols moved from the area earlier this year. The churchâs aging population was not able to continue the event, she said, but volunteers were urged to help with the Clarksburg Missionâs dinner.
âItâs going to be very different this year, but I hope that neighbors take care of neighbors,â Nichols said.
