Crete, Neb.– Fresh off their weekend series, the William Penn baseball team was back in action, this time for a doubleheader against the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers.
The Statesmen dropped the opening contest by a score of 2-0, but rebounded nicely for a 4-3 win in the afternoon.

The first contest was quiet on both fronts, as both starters did a phenomenal job of limiting their respective opposition. Jacob Wiechmann got the nod to open Monday’s action, limiting the Tigers to only four base runners in the game. Unfortunately, three of those hits came in the third inning as Dakota Wesleyan was able to push across two runs, and that was the end of the game’s scoring as the contest ended in a 2-0 loss for the Statesmen. ....
