He went to harvard law school, graduating 1979 magna cum laude, and was the Supreme Court editor of the harvard law review. He then clerked for judge basil on and judge leventhal on the d. C. Circuit court before he clerked for chief Justice Burger. After his clerkship, he went to nyu in 1981, and by 1988 he was dean of the law school. His tenure there was extremely successful. Beck and his colleague founded one of the most highly respected firms of trial attorneys in the nation. Mr. Beck has litigated hundreds of cases over the course of his career, but he is perhaps most wellknown for his work as the lead attorney representing the george w.
