State Oversight Committee (SOC) held a meeting on May 2 at Conference Hall, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima, where the members deliberated on the modalities and plan of the upcoming Integrated Sexually transmitted infections (STI), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Tuberculosis (TB), Hepatitis (ISHTH) campaign in Prisons & Other Closed Settings (P&OCS).
DIMAPUR The State Oversight Committee (SOC) on Integrated STI, HIV, TB, Hepatitis (ISHTH) on Tuesday discussed on modalities for the upcoming ISHTH campaign which would be carried out in all districts across the state among inmates and clients of prison and other closed settings for screening/ testing and linkages to treatment of STI, HIV, TB and Hepatitis. The ISHTH campaign would be launched all over the country on May 15 under the aegis of the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), informed an update from Health department. The meeting held at the conference hall of the directorate of Health and Family Welfare in Kohima was chaired by the commissioner and secretary, Y Kikheto Sema, while the modalities and plan of the upcoming campaign was presented by Dr. Bernice D Thapru, NSACS joint director (prevention), and overview of the HIV and AIDS scenario in the state was given by Medo Kire, NSACS deputy director (SIMU).
