美参院外委会通过法案 将助台湾重返世卫组织
“当大家正试图从COVID-19大流行病中恢复过来的时候，中华人民共和国阻挡台湾取得世卫大会观察员身份的努力是很心胸狭隘的，并危及到国际社会，”梅嫩德斯周三在法案审议会议上说，“这项法案清楚表明，美国必须采取更多行动来支持台湾参与国际社会，特别是在此刻参与世界卫生组织。”
这项支持台湾取得世卫大会观察员身份的法案由梅嫩德斯和共和党联邦参议员英霍夫（Sen. James Inhofe, R-OK）等两位参议院“台湾连线”（Taiwan Caucus）跨党派共同主席联袂提出。法案周三在参议院外委会获得无异议一致通过。
根据法案内容，法案规定在立法生效后，美国国务卿必须拟定策略协助台湾获得世界卫生大会观察员身份，并在台湾未能取得观察员身份的任何年度世卫大会会议后，就美国在� ....
