Hainan will build a platform for the protection and exhibition of cultural relics from the No 1 and No 2 shipwrecks on the northwest slope of the South China Sea

In October 2022, a deep-sea archaeological survey team discovered two ancient shipwrecks at a depth of about 10,1500 meters on the northwestern slope of the South China Sea. One of the shipwreck sites is dominated by porcelain, and the number of cultural relics is estimated to exceed 1506,1521. At present, a total of 124 underwater cultural relics have been found in the shallow waters such as islands and reefs within Hainan's jurisdiction. Among them, there are 106 in the Xisha Sea, 6 in the Nansha Sea and 12 in the Hainans coast.
