Public can comment on West Haven Police Department accreditation

WEST HAVEN The public is being invited to comment as the city Police Department undergoes an assessment as part of its state accreditation, according to a release.
Assessors from the Police Officers Standards and Training Council will be in the city April 5 to review the department’s policies and procedures as they relate to State Accreditation Standards.
A department being verified as meeting POST Council standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation, according to the release, “a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence.” ....
