The heinous Terror Attack in israel that killed more than 1,400 people. The crisis that continues to threaten the innocent lives of hundreds of hostages and endanger the entire civilian population of gaza. In a spiraling humanitarian calamity. In the next hour President Joe Biden will depart for israel for what could be one of the most important trips of his presidency. His visit is of course a show of support for an ally grieving the murder of more jewish lives than at any time since the holocaust. But also bracing for a deadly and dangerous point in this conflict with hamas. It is also a high wire diplomatic endeavor with nothing less than the possibility of a major regional conflict breaking out looming over every fraught development and every development in the last few hours has been that, fraught. Its also added fuel to a volatile situation. There are reports of a < ....

Involved in the investigation. As of about 90 minutes ago, investigators legitimately had no idea why Stephen Paddock committed mass murder. He did not seem religious. He didnt seem political. Thats true. The crime still makes no sense at all to the people looking into it. And that may be the scariest part of all. Now, all of that could change at any minute, of course. As we said, we are waiting for investigators to begin that News Conference in las vegas. It is possible they will reveal new evidence then. We will go to that, obviously, when it begins. A few minutes ago we received the very first statement from the shooters girlfriend recently arrived back in the u. S. From abroad. We will play that for you in just a minute. In the meantime though we want to show you a new tape we have received. It doesnt answer why this happened, but it does provide some context for what i ....
This evening, the Rachel Maddow show starts now. Early for a change. I have something to spend this time doing. Exactly. Thanks, my friend, appreciate it. So that was the mechanism. Each keystroke on the typewriter would cause a piece of metal to fling itself up toward the paper. A different little bar with a different letter on it for each keystroke. That was how they started out. But then in 1961, ibm chang ....
