Its rumored that lauer was earning upwards of 20 million a year in his contract that wasnt up until 2018. Its not known if nbc will pay him out. Matt lauer was the face of the today show for 20 years but he was more than that, he was also a big part of its editorial institutional voice. Nbc has been so good to me. With this termination, lauer becomes the third news titan in seven months to be taken down by allegations of sexual harassment.
