A preferred route for the new N25 link between the Waterford and New Ross bypasses has not yet been chosen.
Issues that arose during a peer review of the work in January are still being worked through, Piltown Area Engineer Stan Cullen told councillors, but it is expected the route will be decided before the end of March. “It is looking imminent.”
The proposed 9km dual carriageway will link the New Ross bypass and Waterford bypass.

Motorists and pedestrians in south Kilkenny are being warned of a ‘dangerous’ situation at the Pink Rock.
Last week a landslide occurred in the scenic area, making the road impassable to both vehicles and walkers.
The road will remain closed until at least the end of this week, when a consultant has formally assessed the area.
On the night of Monday, February 1, gardaí informed Kilkenny County Council that there had been a rockfall on the road at the Pink Rock. Council staff inspected the road and it was closed immediately that night. A daylight inspection and the removal of the material that had fallen onto the road followed the next day. ....

Short term safety measures are to be taken on a south Kilkenny road to prevent accidents while a permanent safety solution is designed.
The road into Mooncoin from Carrick on Suir has been the site of a lot of accidents and making it safer is going to take a year or more, according to local councillor, Pat Dunphy.
Cllr Dunphy appealed to local area engineers to erect warning signs in the meantime.

“We’re lucky somebody wasn’t killed there, a few weeks ago,” Cllr Dunphy said, adding there are accidents on that stretch of road “all the time.” ....

Ongoing icy conditions are now a serious concern for South Kilkenny farmers, Piltown Municipal District Councillor Fidelis Doherty (FG) told District Council members at this month s virtual meeting.
Milk lorries and larger vehicles cannot travel on some local access roads in the area due to ongoing icy conditions, she said.
This means that some of our farming community cannot get milk collected or cattle feed delivered.
Senior Executive Engineer for Piltown Municipal District Stan Cullen assured councillors that as much as possible is being done to alleviate these issues. ....
