Reporter police say the couple was driving on the highway on East Patchogue monday night. They saw a minivan swerving in front of them. The couple flashed their brits ghts and thats when things got ugly. Both drivers provoked each other, flashing their lights, yelling at each other out the window. Then things got dangerous. The victim did admit to slamming on her brakes behind them. All this with a baby in the backseat. Someone in the minivan fired two shots. The mother in the passenger seat was hit in the finger and leg. The bullets narrowly missed the baby. Dangerously close. Dangerously close. Reporter the victim, nicole mcdowell, declined to speak to us on camera. But she wrote, right now i am in so much pain as i try to recover. My daughter is okay and was not hit.
