As more teachers and school employees receive the COVID-19 vaccine, Stark County schools are on alert for possible side effects.
The Massillon City School District has canceled in-person classes on the day after employees in the school building get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The students will instead learn remotely.
Superintendent Paul Salvino decision to move to remote learning is a proactive step.
I don t have a desire to have to call off school due to a lack of staff and our parents, students and staff not having an opportunity to be prepared, he explained.
