intlz calls for change right from the very top. less than one month after metro s deadliest crash, the ntsb is raising the red flag making major recommendations for metro, spelling out what needs to be tagled first tackled first. the report released just before metro learns it s about to get $1 a 50 1350 million in $15million in federal funding. i m will thomas. i m shawn yancy. fox 5 s maureen umeh has been on this developing story all night. maureen? reporter: the recommended changes center around sensors on the tracks. they basically tell metro where trains are so they don t run into each other. the ntsb wants an updated system but metro officials say it is impossible, at least for now. an urgent recommendation for metro coming from the national transportation safety board. the ntsb wants the transit authority to upgrade its track circuit. tests show the system designed to detect a train on the track malfunctioned. metro should now monitor that system in ....
