School in Melaka hit by massive flash flood

MELAKA: A vernacular school here faces another setback just after a month after successfully containing the spread of Covid-19.
SRJK (C) Bukit Beruang here was hit by a massive flash flood on Monday morning (May 17), damaging some furniture.
The school s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) chairman Datuk Ronald Gan said floodwater gushed into classrooms like a waterfall .
This was the first time the school was affected by a flash flood, and mud covered our stairways and classrooms.
My PTA members have raised concern about the probability of a hillside land clearing that caused the murky floodwater and has potential to trigger a massive landslide, he said when interviewed here on Monday (May 17). ....
