The Italian Classification Society RINA will create the first Hellenic Decarbonization Committee (HDC), on May 6. The initiative falls within the broader objectives of RINA, which seeks to support the shipping industry in achieving the CO2 reduction targets set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The first president of the RINA Hellenic Decarbonization Committee is Ms. Ioanna Prokopiou, CEO of Prominence Maritime. The committee will consist of a selected group of shipowners, technicians, shipbuilders, fuel suppliers and charterers. The Commission aims to launch a meaningful dialogue between all stakeholders aimed at technology improvements, regulation, digital services and the financing of “green” technologies for the benefit of the whole industry. ....
RINA Hellenic Advisory Committee: Resilient 2020 – Fleet Operation Center and Remote Surveys The first Digital Edition of RINA Hellenic Advisory Committee organized by Spyros Zolotas and the RINA Hellas team, hosted several leaders within the Greek shipping community, who discussed about the challenging but resilient and successful 2020, digital solutions, remote surveys, Cybersecurity and the alternative fuels. The Committee Chairman George Youroukos, Owner of Technomar Shipping Inc., in his opening speech highlighted some of RINA’s significant achievements in 2020, such as a further increase of classed fleet and he underlined the quality of added value services which offer a competitive advantage to its client.
