After a gloomy weekend we could be looking at more wet wet weather to start the work week. Seems like we cant seem to buy a sunny day. Lets get right over to meteorologist lauren casey in our Weather Center to tell us what to expect. I got to keep the umbrella handy. You dont need to keep it grasped in your clutches, all month long definitely throughout the weekend but youll need to know where it is as we head to tomorrow. This weekend, umbrellas needed them at the International Airport picking up over two inches of rainfall yesterday and today combined. Wilmington close to two inches, same case in mt. Jay Lauren Brigman continues Live Team Coverage from Madison County and, lauren, light flurries are showing up in the wolf laurel area now . Lauren yes, some very light snow flurries. We have started to see those just within the last 30 minutes. They are starting to pick up a little bit. I checked in with dispatcher, too, in the northern mountain counties like mitchell and yancey, just within the past 15 minutes, they are starting to see flurries in the burnsville area of Yancey County. So, folks there will begin to see wintry weather moving in. Mitchell county told me they heart the dot trucks running through the night there as well because they have had issues with icy roads in the area as well. Thats why you see the dot crews standing ready to go.
