Two longtime classmates at Central High record perfect ACT scores

In classrooms and on the track, Colin Pulis and Hunter Kimberlin-Poore have often been side-by-side competitively. They push each other.
The Central High School seniors met as sixth-graders entering the Springfield Scholars a program, located at Central, for highly gifted middle school students and, for the past seven years, have been in many of the same academically rigorous courses.
Outside of the classroom, Pulis and Kimberlin-Poore were involved in some of the same extracurricular activities, most notably track and cross country.
Colin and I have been friends for a long time and we were both quite good at cross country. We often motivated each other to do well. We ran at about the same speed, said Kimberlin-Poore. So, every race, we were pushing each other. And I would say the same in academics. ....
