Olympian Thomas Hall named COC Director, Communications and Media Relations 01/26/21 On Monday, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) named Beijing 2008 Olympic bronze medallist, Thomas Hall, as Director, Communications and Media Relations. Effective Monday, February 1, 2021, Hall will report to Andrew Baker, Vice President, International Relations and Public Affairs. Hall will lead the COC’s communications function with responsibility for the development and implementation of the department’s long-term strategy. The 38-year old Pointe-Claire, Québec native represented Team Canada as a national sprint canoe paddler for almost 20 years, highlighted by a bronze medal performance in the men’s C-1 1,000m event at Beijing 2008. He is also a two-time Pan American Games medallist earning gold and bronze at Santo Domingo 2003.
