Vouchers should be given to every household in Ireland to give a shot in the arm to the ailing hospitality and recreation sector in Ireland, according to Laois Offaly Sinn Féin TD Brian Stanley.
The public representative believes it should be part Government stimulus scheme to provide a much-needed boost to the sectors so they can reopen later this year afer lockdown.
He said Sinn Féin launched a hospitality and recreation voucher scheme proposal last summer which would allocate vouchers for every child to be spent on hospitality and recreation in local economies across the state.

Sinn Féin spokesperson on Tourism Imelda Munster TD has called on the Minister for Tourism Catherine Martin to introduce a stimulus scheme to provide a much-needed boost to tourism and hospitality when the sectors can reopen later this year.
Deputy Munster’s comments follow the Minister for Finance’s announcement that he will not be replacing the government’s failed Stay and Spend Scheme for 2021.
