Weber recognized with Rotary s Marvin Kruse Award

Spencer Rotary member Joe Weber was chosen as the 2022 Marvin Kruse Award winner. Fellow Spencer Rotarian Greg Rasch presented him with the award. Weber is a shining example of what it means to be a Rotarian. He helps enthusiastically at all events and fundraisers and often times bring his children to participate to teach them the value of volunteering in our community.

Rotary Book Sale begins Wednesday | The Daily Reporter

More than 30,000 books old-and-rare, best sellers and children’s titles will be available beginning Wednesday when the Spencer Rotary kicks off its annual Five Day Book Sale inside the Clay County Regional Events Center. The First Choice Party will be conducted from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Entry fee will include first access and light appetizers. Thursday and Friday, the sale will continue from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, from 10 a.m.

Pilots who took Flight to End Polio featured at Rotary

John Ockenfels, one of two pilots who participated in a round-the-world plane trip in May, will be joined by fellow Rotarian and pilot Peter Teahen at Spencer Rotary at noon Monday in the Clay County Fair and Events Center. The duo will discuss their summer fundraising and awareness mission, The Flight to End Polio. The duo prepped the plane at Spencer Avionics before their departure. Lunch is $25 with proceeds to benefit the Rotary Flight to End Polio. (File photo)
