Candidate forums planned for May | The Daily Reporter

Spencer media partners the Spencer Reporter, Spencer Municipal Communications and Spencer Radio Group will host a pair of candidate forums on back-to-back Wednesdays, May 15 and 22, in council chambers at Spencer City Hall, with both forums beginning at 6:30 p.m. The primary election in Iowa is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4, across the state.

Have a blessed Christmas celebration | The Daily Reporter

On behalf of the staff of the Spencer Reporter and Northwest Iowa Shopper, we wish all of our loyal readers, subscribers and advertisers as well as everyone in our readership area a very Merry Christmas. To allow our staff time with their families this holiday season, the office will be closed Friday through Christmas day. The office will reopen Tuesday and because of the holiday, the Dec. 26 paper will be delivered Wednesday rather than Tuesday.

Reporter's Holiday Family Adoption drop-off next 2 Saturdays

Individuals and groups who adopted a family for Christmas through the Spencer Reporter's Holiday Family Adoption Program can drop off gifts the next two Saturdays, Dec. 9 and 16, from 9 a.m. to noon at The Depot on the Clay County Fairgrounds. The gifts should be wrapped, and they should be tagged for the individuals specified in the listings that were published in the newspaper in November. For example, follow this or something close to it: "Family 34, son 10 years old."
