Multipart recreation project to appear before council

A hint meeting was held between the Spencer Park Board and the Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee to hear a proposal which would start the planning phase of a development project by the Spencer Family Aquatic Center. The proposal from Bolton & Menk would potentially move the campground in East Leach Park to River View Park, add a splash pad to the aquatic center and preform upgrade work at the pool.

Park Board looking to push future projects forward

During Tuesday’s Spencer Park Board meeting, Parks and Recreation Director Bob Fullhart suggested it was time to move discussions forward on several future development items. One topic of discussion was the old tennis courts at Fairview Park. Since construction of tennis courts at East 15th Street next to Spencer Middle School will start potentially this summer, the question remains what will happen to the courts at Fairview.
