Education dominates Eggs & Issues conversation

LCDC makes funding request, previews new promotional documentary series

The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation asked for $62,500 from the City of Spencer on Jan. 16.

The request came from LCDC CEO Curt Strouth during a regular meeting of the Spencer City Council. Strouth said the organization needs the money to help support the LCDC’s ongoing economic development efforts. The request is for the same dollar amount the council approved last year. ....

2-year CIP approved under new process | The Daily Reporter

The city’s new process for capital improvement planning has made some progress in the months since its approval. A two-year plan submitted by the city’s CIP committee received approval on Tuesday night from the Spencer City Council.

The approved plan will use approximately $1.4 million capital funds for the 2023-24 fiscal year. $609,000 is currently planned for the 2024-25 fiscal year, making a total of approximately $2 million in capital funds for the next two years. ....
