The Spencer Ambassadors visited Brown's Shoe Fit Tuesday to welcome new store manager trainee, Blake Driskell. Originally from Illinois, he moved to Spencer to train under the current store manager. He has been working for Brown's for just over a year after being hired into the management program. This is Driskell’s second store training in and he plans to be in Spencer for at least a year or two, until the company has found an opening they believe is a good fit for him. ....
The Spencer Ambassadors visited Goodwill on Thursday afternoon to celebrate the business’ 100-year anniversary. Mayor Steve Bomgaars was also present and proclaimed Aug. 31 as Goodwill of the Great Plains Day. Customers were welcomed for lunch and offered a 25% off coupon and a chance to win a $25 gift card to the store all in honor of the Goodwill 100-year anniversary. (Photo submitted) ....
