MADISON, WI- Today, the Kenosha District Attorney Michael Gravely decided to not charge the officer who fired his weapon at Jacob Blake seven times at his back, leaving him paralyzed. Upon this announcement, Rep. Stubbs released the following statement: “The decision of Kenosha District Attorney Gravely to not charge Officer Sheskey leaves the Blake family without justice, and the Kenosha community without peace. This injustice cannot fall on deaf ears. We must all keep Jacob Blake and his family in our prayers, and act to change this broken system.” “Wisconsin cannot prosper, if justice is not upheld for victims of police brutality. Racism is a public health crisis that our system continues to perpetuate and leave untreated. I am sick of seeing the constant disregard for Black lives. We need to make it clear that in Wisconsin, Black Lives Matter, and that police brutality will not be tolerated.” ....
