Demolition of the former Spartanburg City Hall building on West Broad Street is set to begin by May 6. The process will take about five weeks to complete.
The U.S. Department of Education has awarded a $15 million grant to Spartanburg School District 3 and 7 to help the districts fund a host of programs and services.
The former Spartanburg City Hall building will be demolished this spring. A new city-county government complex will be built at the site at 145 W. Broad St.
