Nature is on our side as of now. nasa saying that weather conditions are 80% favorable for the start of this two hour window that begins at 8:33 eastern time this morning. but due to those delays that i mentioned, it looks as if this launch will happen more towards the back half of that two-hour window and towards the back half nasa says the weather doesn t look as good, only 60% favorable conditions. but the delays, the issues that the team has had to overcome so far hasn t stopped the excitement here and based on the traffic alone this morning, christine, there is a lot of excitement, along the highway people were camped out already at 3:00 in the morning coming to watch this launch. as you pointed out it s an uncrewed launch, the first kicking off the artemis program for nasa which will land the first woman and the moon and the first person of color hopefully in 2025. there s a lot of buzz in the air ....

Saturn 5 rocket 50 years ago. there are about 1,000 people that have come out to see this launch because it is such a spectacle. this is the rocket you can feel inside your chest, reverberate inside you, almost make the ground shake when you lift off. you cannot find a hotel room anywhere within a mile of the kennedy space center. you also have the vice president coming down here as well. so a powerful rocket and also going to be quite a spectacle if this thing goes off today. it s going to be fun. my kids are going to a watch party. it reminds me of the days of the shuttle program when everyone is invested again into these missions. it really does. you know, christine, i was actually here during that last space shuttle launch in july of 2011. back then there was such a sadness that you could really feel here about the end of the space shuttle program and nasa not having its own rocket, its ....

As was pointed out, since the last space shuttle launch in 2011 and longer since we flew a mission to the moon, that was intended to carry humans, last time was 1972, of course, with apollo 17, so almost 50 years later, here we are finally about to launch the first large rocket from u.s. shores, 8.8 million pounds of thrust at leftoff. pays less payload to orbit than the saturn 5. nonetheless a huge rocket. always exciting when there is he a launch of a new vehicle. there are record numbers of people in florida about to witness this hopefully tomorrow morning. this has been an incredible road trip for folks, quite an occasion to get in the car, get there and find a parking space, whatever you can do to be there to witness it. so this mission it is a prelude to what nasa is hoping are even bigger things like helping to establish a sustainable lunar ....
