artemis mission was postponed. basically there was an engine malfunction. artemis one is the first in a series of missions that would return humans to the moon for the first time since 1972. the launch team discovered a bleed in one of the rocket s four engines. cnn s space correspondent joins us. explain more of what happened and then what happens next. reporter: yeah, so, victor, essentially we all thought that this was an engine issue. what we learned during the press conference, the first post-scrub press conference that just wrapped up, is that nasa officials believe it s not so much an engine issue. the primary culprit was an issue with the cooling system that cools that particular engine, engine number three. they ve got to get that engine to the right temperature before liftoff because sthey don t wan the liquid hydrogen and oxygen to shock the system. it seems to be that is where the biggest problem was. they are troubleshooting now. another problem we lear ....

breaking news hello everyone. thanks for joining me on. alison chemla, radha, and for fredricka whitfield, we have an exciting program for you today because within the next half an hour, we expect to witness the first ever boeing starliner spacecraft launched from cape canaveral, florida to the international space station. this is not a practice run this its launch has to american astronauts on board but officials and spectators are holding their breath a bit because this mission was already postponed a few times, veteran nasa astronauts, butch wilmore and suni williams are on board. and boeing is trying with this to compete with its rivals space x as nasa tries to collaborate with private industry partners. if successful, suni williams would become the first woman aboard any crewed test flight like this years of work has gone into this moment and it has not been without setbacks, as i ve mentioned. so let s bring in space and defense correspondent kristin fishe ....
