It happened when a large cargo ship struck the bridge. The vessel was leaving baltimore for sri lanka. The local coast guard received word of an impact at 1 27 a. M. Eastern time this morning. The Port Of Baltimore is one of the nations largest shipping hubs. According to the associated press, Emergency Responders are searching for at least seven people believed to be in the water. The Washington Post reporting now they are looking for up to 20 people. Those numbers unclear at this point. It is too early to know exactly how many people overall were affected.
