Dog Revived by Lufkin Firefighters Recovers, Gets to Return Home On Tuesday afternoon, Lufkin firefighters responded to a house fire on Pershing Avenue. They were able to get the blaze under control quickly, however, the house owner s dog was found unresponsive due to smoke inhalation. Firefighters administered oxygen to the dog and were able to revive it. The dog was transported to a local veterinarian and today the Lufkin Police and Fire Departments put an update on their Facebook page concerning the dog s status. According to the post, the dog is a Blue Heeler named Roxanne and she is expected to back home either today or Friday according to her owner Shelley Dance. ....
