Some kids can barely talk when they start asking where babies come from. Parents might put them off a few years by talking about storks and such, but they ll learn eventually.
Planned Parenthood is determined that they get good information, and the Southwestern Oregon Chapter offers both in-person and virtual training on human reproductive matters. It s not all one-way; trainers have learned from kids that they have LOTS of questions about sex.

They Put Up a Parking Lot


What we’re getting
The land now known as the Park Blocks and Butterfly Lot was first donated in 1856 by the Skinner and Mulligan families, Eugene pioneers who wanted to create a unifying public square for the new community.
Later on, the square was divided into four blocks, with the two north blocks being used for a city hall, county jail and courthouse, and the two south blocks being used for a park. Over the years, the Eugene community moved away from the town square and City Hall moved to the old Eugene High School building at 11th Avenue and Willamette Street.  ....

Relief Agencies And Community Foundations Get Nearly $700K From Murdock Trust

The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust has donated nearly $700,000 to a number of community foundations and relief organizations, as they continue responding to what’s considered the worst wildfire season in recorded history.

Carisa Hettich is executive director of the Southwest Oregon Chapter of the Red Cross. She says they received $50,000 from the trust, which they’ve used to provide hotel rooms, meals, and money to 16-hundred families affected by wildfires. ....
