they re quitting. absolutely. a couple of weeks ago it was the southwest airline pilots. it s been medical workers, it s first responders. these are brave americans who are actually standing up for our rights. you know, this is the really not so much about vaccines, about covid-19, it s about the rights of the people as guaranteed by our constitution. the reason that our forefathers spent so much time can and effort on our constitution is because they know that the natural tendency of governments is to grow, to infiltrate and to control. so we re not seeing anything that s unusual. but what we do have is a constitution and brave people who are willing to use it to preserve our freedoms. and the same thing with the parents who are standing up to the schools in virginia and across the country. these are the people who are going to guarantee freedom, liberty and justice in this nation. maria: yeah. and instead of giving and
gosh, why are you telling me what i need to do with my body. i think people all across america have decided whether or not they are getting vaccinated especially when it impacts your police force and the people leo just describe. they protect us every day, they are essential to our way of life in america and you are saying if they aren t vaccinated they can t work? that s insane to me especially in a place like chicago. i think this vaccine mandate look, hats off to southwest airline pilots, i mean, people have to stand up against these things because this is really about control in america at this point because when you have a vaccine that basically doesn t prevent you from getting covid, we know there are statistics now that semi people are getting breakthrough cases of for covid once you have the vaccine nor does it prevent you from transmitting it so why the push to get the vaccine and at the end of the day i think people assume it s got to be about control, but
if you would ve told me at 2020 last year, we were in a presidential race. we had our first debate. biden and president trump. then vice president biden. if you would ve told me a year later we would have three vaccines and that only 60% of americans will be fully vaccinated, less than 60%, i would ve taken a bet on the opposite side. i would ve thought we would have three quarters of our nation vaccinated. the first that i came on the show, you are kind to have me and jesse said clearly if everyone who is vaccinated software masks, that s wrong. i m vaccinated. the likelihood of me getting this virus is so small and the likelihood of me getting sick is very small. infant. infinitesimally small. those numbers still exist today. i hope people get vaccinated and those who choose not to, there will be consequences. obviously the southwest airline pilots and the personnel there are experiencing some of those consequences. greg: i m sorry, you said something that i think is at the kernel
cancellations on disruptive weather and air traffic control issues. the federal aviation administration later responded saying there have been no air traffic staffing shortages reported since friday and notably no other airlines this weekend seemed to experience the same level of disruption. the cancellations come after the union representing southwest airline pilots filed a request with the court to temporarily block the airline s vaccine mandate causing some to wonder whether the mandate is causing the cancellation of hundreds of flights. senator ted cruz tweeted joe biden s illegal vaccine mandate at work. suddenly we re short on pilots and air traffic controllers. the pilot s union insists the pilots aren t participating in any kind of protest and now as flight cancellations continue this morning with 9% of the airline s flights already affected, southwest said on twitter an hour ago they anticipate returning to normal
