SALINEVILLE-Southern Local Schools are ringing in the holidays with upcoming activities for students and their families. Southern Local Elementary Assistant Principal Emily Brinker announced a special drive-through Christmas parade was being held on Dec. 18 from 6-7:30 p.m. Students and parents can travel through the parking lot and receive candy and other treats from school officials for a little holiday cheer at this uncertain time. More yuletide generosity was occurring with the annual Giving Tree and Brinker said more students were in need than ever. “About 111 students are in need to be provided with Christmas gifts. That’s the most we’ve ever had,” she added. “Anyone who would like to reach out has until Dec. 18. It’s another opportunity to give kids some joy and wish them a Merry Christmas.” ....
