Tv, Purdue University professor Kathryn Brownell teaching a class about political advertising, in the 19 fifties. Highlighting the eisenhower president ial campaigns, she compared radio and early tv ads, and discusses what make them successful. Nothing perhaps captures the popular memory of the 19 fifties, like the slogan i like ike. This idea, this been that so many people wore around the campaign of 1952, and 1956 conveys a notion of nostalgia and simplicity.
